Eindhoven Airport Guide
Eindhoven Airport is located 7.6 km west of Eindhoven city centre, in the province of North Brabant. It is the second-busiest airport in the Netherlands by passenger volume, handling 6.8 million passengers in 2024 across 79 destinations. The airport shares its single 3,000-metre runway with Eindhoven Air Base, making it a dual-use civil-military facility operated jointly by Eindhoven Airport N.V. and the Royal Netherlands Air Force.
The airport is majority-owned by the Royal Schiphol Group, with minority stakes held by the Province of North Brabant and the City of Eindhoven. It operates as a low-cost carrier hub: Ryanair holds approximately 40% of seat capacity, followed by Transavia and Wizz Air. A terminal expansion from 27,300 to 35,000 square metres is underway, with construction starting in 2025.
The airport serves as a gateway to the southern Netherlands and northern Belgium. Travelers to Amsterdam can reach the capital by train in roughly 70 minutes via Eindhoven Central station, which has a direct bus connection from the terminal. The airport is temporarily closed from February to July 2027 for runway renovation.
