Marau Airport guide

Marau Airport (ICAO AGGU) is a small airstrip at Marau Sound on the eastern end of Guadalcanal, in Guadalcanal Province, Solomon Islands. It has a single runway about 610 metres (2,000 feet) long, which suits only small aircraft.

Solomon Airlines is the operator and flies the route from Honiara with DHC-6 Twin Otter aircraft. The flight takes about one and a half hours. The airline has scheduled the service twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays. It suspended flights in January 2022 during a land dispute near the airstrip, so passengers should confirm the current schedule with the airline before travelling.

Local operators run transfers to and from the airstrip by truck and by boat. Marau Airport is not the same as Marau Sound Airport at Parasi, which has the code PRS.
