Keshod Airport guide

Keshod Airport is a small domestic airport in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat. It sits about 4 km north-east of the town of Keshod and serves the Junagadh district and the Somnath coast, roughly 55 km away at Prabhas Patan. Pilgrims to the Somnath temple make up much of the demand.

The Nawab of Junagadh built the airfield in the early 1930s for private use, and it was refurbished in the late 1980s. Jet Airways was the last airline to fly here, with its final scheduled flight in October 2000. Scheduled service resumed in April 2022 under the UDAN regional connectivity scheme, with Alliance Air flying ATR 72-600 turboprops. Routes have included Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Diu and Porbandar. The Airports Authority of India reports 4,798 passengers and 428 aircraft movements for April 2025 to March 2026, a fall of 75 percent in passengers on the previous year.

The airport covers about 450 acres and has a single asphalt runway, 05/23, 1,372 m long. The Gujarat government signed an agreement with the Airports Authority of India in December 2023 to provide 205 acres for an upgrade. Phase 1 plans a new terminal, a runway extended to 2,500 m, a new control tower and an apron for narrow-body jets.
