Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport serves Abuja, the federal capital of Nigeria, located approximately 40 km southwest of the city centre by road. Named after Nigeria's first president, the airport handles both domestic and international traffic through two main terminal complexes sharing a single runway. It is the country's second busiest airport.

The original facility opened in 2002, and a new international terminal was commissioned in December 2018 with capacity to process 15 million passengers annually. The new terminal features aerobridges, 72 check-in counters, and is the first airport in Nigeria connected to a rail transport system. In 2024 the airport handled 5.48 million passengers and 77,909 aircraft movements.

Abuja's status as the political capital means significant volumes of government, diplomatic, and business traffic. International connectivity covers Europe, the Middle East, and major African hubs, with Air Peace dominant on domestic routes and carriers such as British Airways, Turkish Airlines, and Ethiopian Airlines operating international services.
