Makurdi Airport guide

Makurdi Airport (ICAO DNMK) serves Makurdi, the capital of Benue State in central Nigeria. It sits at Fili, along the Makurdi-Gboko road, and is a domestic airport. The Nigerian Air Force shares the airfield with civil traffic.

The airport began operating in 1983. Its single concrete runway, 05/23, is about 3,000 metres long and 50 metres wide, with a paved overrun of 266 metres at each end. That length suits large aircraft, though the civil service is small. A non-directional beacon, ident MK, stands 2.2 kilometres northwest of the runway.

Air Peace opened flights from Lagos and Abuja to Makurdi on 7 December 2020 and suspended them within weeks. The airline brought the route back in April 2023 at three flights a week. Schedules here have changed more than once, so check with the airline before you plan a trip.
