Fuerteventura Airport Guide
Fuerteventura Airport (IATA: FUE), also known as El Matorral Airport, is on the eastern coast of Fuerteventura island, about 5 km southwest of the island capital Puerto del Rosario. It opened in 1969 and is operated by Aena, Spain's airport authority. The airport has a single runway (01/19) measuring 3,406 metres.
The airport has one terminal building of more than 92,000 m² with 24 boarding gates and an annual capacity of 8.2 million passengers. In 2025 it handled 6,886,935 passengers and 55,342 aircraft movements.
Traffic is mainly European leisure travel. Germany and the United Kingdom account for more than half of international traffic. Ryanair, easyJet, Vueling, Iberia, TUI Airways, Condor and Jet2 are among the 37 airlines listed by Aena, with more than 50 destinations across Europe. Domestic routes connect the island with Gran Canaria, Madrid, Tenerife Norte and Barcelona. The airport also handled 333.8 tonnes of cargo in 2025, and its homepage reports Airport Carbon Accreditation Level 1.
