Humberto Ghizzo Bortoluzzi Regional Airport, also called Aeroporto Regional Sul, sits near the coast of southern Santa Catarina in the municipality of Jaguaruna. It serves the Tubarão and Criciúma area, the state's main southern industrial and coal-mining region, and is the closest airport to the beach towns of Laguna and Balneário Rincão. The IATA code is JJG and the ICAO code is SBJA.
The single asphalt runway, 05/23, is 2,499 metres long and 30 metres wide, which makes it one of the longest in the state. The airport is used by scheduled domestic flights to São Paulo-Guarulhos, and Azul Conecta has announced services to Florianópolis and Joinville from 6 November 2026.
In November 2024 the state government of Santa Catarina awarded a 30-year concession for the airport to a consortium led by RDL Aeroportos, in the first public-private partnership in the state's history. The contract calls for runway widening, an expanded passenger terminal and new equipment during its first three years.
