Lauro Carneiro de Loyola Airport guide

Lauro Carneiro de Loyola Airport, also known as Joinville Airport, serves Joinville, the largest city in Santa Catarina, and the industrial north of the state. It lies about 12 km from downtown Joinville at 4 metres above sea level. The IATA code is JOI and the ICAO code is SBJV. The airport has carried the name of a local entrepreneur and politician since December 2003.

The single asphalt runway, 15/33, is 1,540 metres long. A new passenger terminal was commissioned on 8 March 2004. Infraero ran the airport from 1974 until 2021, when a 30-year concession passed to CCR, rebranded as Motiva in 2025. The Mexican group ASUR bought Motiva's airport portfolio, and the sale completed on 31 August 2026.

The airport handled 532,848 passengers in 2025, up 20 percent on the year before. Scheduled domestic flights reach São Paulo-Congonhas, São Paulo-Guarulhos and Campinas. Azul Conecta plans to add Florianópolis and Jaguaruna from 6 November 2026.
