Albany Airport is the main airport of the Great Southern region of Western Australia. It sits about 11 km from the Albany central business district, beside Albany Highway, and the City of Albany owns and operates it.

Regional Express (Rex) runs the regular passenger service, flying Saab 340 turboprops between Albany and Perth. The State Government holds a deed of agreement with Rex for the route, which runs to July 2028, and the airline schedules 24 return flights a week. The airport also handles Royal Flying Doctor Service flights, charters, flight training with the Albany Aero Club and military use.

The airport has two sealed runways, the longer of them 1,800 m. The terminal was named the John Bell Terminal on 16 May 1998, the day the airport took the name of Harry Riggs, a former Shire President and wartime Lancaster pilot awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. Parking is ticketless: the first four hours are free and the daily rate after that is $8.80. Avis and Budget operate car rental at the airport. A master plan costing about $30 million, backed by state and federal funding, covers terminal and runway upgrades.
