Krasnoyarsk Cheremshanka Airport Guide
Cheremshanka is a regional airfield northwest of Krasnoyarsk, beside the much larger Krasnoyarsk International Airport (KJA). The two share the same runway bearing of 11/29, and weather reports for Cheremshanka are often drawn from KJA, so the two are easy to confuse. Cheremshanka is a separate field with its own code and its own flights.
The airport is a public and military field run by KrasAviaPort. It is the base of the regional airline KrasAvia, which flies small turboprops such as the An-24 and An-26 to towns across Krasnoyarsk Krai and neighbouring regions, including Abakan, Barnaul, Boguchany, Kodinsk, Noyabrsk, Tura and Vanavara. Polyarny is served seasonally. The runway is a single concrete strip 1,793 m long, much shorter than those at KJA.
A fire in December 2011 destroyed the original terminal building and the control tower. Passengers used a temporary terminal for several years. A rebuilt, larger terminal opened in June 2018, designed for about 30 flights a day. It handles regional services only, with no international flights. Annual passenger figures are not published, and the airport is listed among Russian airports with under 300,000 passengers a year.
