Khatanga Airport guide

Khatanga Airport serves the village of Khatanga in the Taymyr Dolgano-Nenets district of Krasnoyarsk Krai, on the Arctic coast of northern Siberia. It sits about 2 km from the village centre at 27 m above sea level, and its ICAO code is UOHH. The airport is open 24 hours a day all year and has no public transport link to the village.

The single runway, 06/24, is 2,704 m long and 48 m wide with a reinforced concrete surface. It was reconstructed in late 2009 and takes aircraft up to 170 tonnes, including the Il-76, Il-86 and Tu-154. A new passenger terminal opened on 8 October 2021. The airfield is also a refuelling stop for polar aviation and a base for charter flights, including expeditions heading to the North Pole.

Scheduled service is thin. KrasAvia flies to Krasnoyarsk about twice a week, and a weekly service links the village with Norilsk. Passenger numbers rose from 15,400 in 2014 to 34,800 in 2017, then settled near 21,200 in 2021.
