Gelendzhik Airport guide

Gelendzhik Airport (ICAO URKG) lies within the city limits of Gelendzhik, on the western shore of Gelendzhik Bay near Cape Tonkiy. It serves the Black Sea resort town and the wider Krasnodar Krai coast, and the nearest other commercial airport is Anapa, 83 km away.

The reconstructed airport received its first regular flight on 29 May 2010 and held its official opening on 5 June 2010. It has one asphalt-concrete runway, 01/19, measuring 3,100 by 45 metres. Traffic grew from about 129,000 passengers in 2010 to roughly 1.04 million in 2021, when the airport handled domestic flights only.

A two-storey terminal of about 5,000 square metres was built between June 2020 and December 2021, replacing a temporary building converted from a cargo terminal. Civilian flights stopped on 24 February 2022. The Federal Air Transport Agency announced the reopening for scheduled passenger flights, with restrictions, on 10 July 2025, and an Aeroflot flight from Moscow Sheremetyevo on 18 July 2025 resumed commercial service. Airlines serving the airport include Aeroflot, Rossiya, Utair, Ural Airlines and Red Wings, with seasonal routes from several Russian cities.
