Sochi International Airport Guide

Sochi International Airport is located in the Adler District, on the Black Sea coast of Krasnodar Krai, about 29 km southeast of central Sochi. It opened for commercial operations in 1957 and serves as the primary gateway for Russia's largest resort region. The airport ranked 5th busiest in Russia in 2024, handling 13.7 million passengers.

The airport was extensively rebuilt between 2007 and 2013 ahead of the 2014 Winter Olympics, with Basic Element investing over 14 billion rubles in a new 62,000 sq m terminal. The facility includes 10 boarding bridges and a 450-metre boarding gallery. A railway station is connected to the terminal via a walkway, providing a direct rail link to Sochi and the Olympic venues at Krasnaya Polyana.

Domestic routes dominate traffic, accounting for roughly 12 million of the 13.7 million passengers in 2024. Aeroflot operates the highest frequency of services. International routes connect to destinations across the Middle East, Central Asia, and neighbouring countries, operated by carriers including flydubai, Oman Air, Air Arabia, Uzbekistan Airways, and Air Serbia.
