Taksimo Airport guide

Taksimo Airport is a small regional airfield in the Republic of Buryatia, in eastern Siberia. It serves the Muysky District, a remote area of the Baikal-Amur Mainline corridor, where the settlement of Taksimo is the administrative centre. The airfield sits about 3 km from the settlement. Its ICAO code is UIKG.

The airport has a single runway and handles light regional traffic. IrAero, a Russian regional carrier, operates scheduled services to Irkutsk and Ulan-Ude on turboprop aircraft. Annual traffic was about 12,500 passengers in 2017, down from around 13,900 in 2014 and 2015.

The airport is owned by the regional operator Airports MVL of Buryatia. There are no customs or immigration facilities, so it handles domestic flights only. Roads and the BAM railway connect the area to the rest of the region, and flights shorten the journey to the regional capital and to Irkutsk.
