Akure Airport guide

Akure Airport (ICAO DNAK) serves Akure, the capital of Ondo State in south-west Nigeria. It sits east of the city at Oba-Ile, at an elevation of 338 metres. The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria runs it.

The airfield has a single asphalt runway, 03/21, which is 2,803 metres long. A non-directional beacon with the identifier AK stands on the field. The site is large; Nigerian press reports describe its land area as several times that of Lagos's Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

Scheduled service is domestic. Air Peace flies to Lagos, and Overland Airways flies to Abuja. FAAN data showed Akure with 136.5 percent passenger growth in 2018, the second-highest rate among Nigerian airports that year, after Katsina.

The airport has been designated a perishable and non-perishable cargo airport to support Ondo State's agricultural exports. In May 2023 FAAN signed a partnership with Ala Resort Ltd on a 56 billion naira plan to build an aerotropolis around the airport.
