Umaru Musa Yar'adua Airport guide

Umaru Musa Yar'adua Airport, also listed as Katsina Airport (ICAO DNKT), serves Katsina, the capital of Katsina State in northern Nigeria. It lies on the northeast side of the city at an elevation of 514 metres and is named after Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, a former Katsina State governor who became president of Nigeria.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria owns and runs the airport. It has a single asphalt runway, 05/23, about 3,460 metres long. That is long enough for large jets, though scheduled service is limited to domestic routes on Nigerian carriers. Max Air flies to Abuja and Lagos, United Nigeria Airlines flies to Abuja and Lagos, and Rano Air flies to Abuja.

Construction on an expansion began with a groundbreaking on 4 May 2023. The project covers a new terminal building, a cargo terminal, an apron extension and a fire truck maintenance and refurbishment centre. Passengers should check current schedules with the airlines, because services on this route network change often.
