Warri Airport guide

Warri Airport sits at Osubi in Okpe Local Government Area, Delta State, in the Niger Delta oil region. It is listed under the ICAO code DNSU and is commonly called Osubi Airport. The field stands at 8 metres above sea level and works on West Africa Time.

The airport opened to commercial traffic on 1 April 1999. It was built to support the oil industry around Warri and Effurun, and Shell operates it with partner oil companies. More than 100,000 passengers used it in its first six months, with about 3,500 aircraft movements in that period. Traffic peaked at 365,875 passengers in 2011 and fell to 187,630 in 2015.

The single asphalt runway, 06/24, is 1,800 metres long, with 150-metre overruns at each end. Its length limits the aircraft that can land, and the airport manager has said this keeps some carriers away. A second, 3,700-metre runway has been proposed. Air Peace and Arik Air fly daily to Lagos and Abuja, and Overland Airways resumed Lagos and Abuja flights in May 2025 with Embraer E-175 jets. About 124,000 passengers and 2,051 movements were recorded between January and June 2024.
