Lampedusa Airport guide

Updated 2026-10-16

Lampedusa Airport sits on the south-eastern side of Lampedusa, the largest of the Pelagie Islands in the Strait of Sicily. The town of Lampedusa is only a short distance away. The island lies closer to Tunisia than to mainland Italy, so the airport is the main year-round link to Sicily. Civil scheduled flights began in 1968. The Italian air force has also kept radar and air detachment facilities on the island since the 1980s.
