Nice-Côte d'Azur Airport Guide
Nice Côte d'Azur Airport sits 7 km west of Nice city centre, partially built on land reclaimed from the Mediterranean Sea. It opened for full commercial operations in 1946 and has grown into France's third busiest airport, handling 15.2 million passengers in 2025. The airport serves as a focus city for Air France and an operating base for easyJet, with a network of over 120 destinations across 45 countries.
The airport's position on the Riviera gives it an unusually international character. It is the closest major airport to Monaco — 20 km to the northeast — and draws significant traffic from luxury tourism and business aviation. A dedicated Business Aviation Terminal opened in 2010. In 2025, the airport recorded 172,949 aircraft movements.
Since December 2018, Nice tramway line 2 connects the airport to Nice's port and city centre, with an interchange at Grand Arénas. The train station Nice Saint Augustin is located approximately 400 metres from the terminal area, providing regional rail connections.
