Paris-Orly Airport sits 14 km south of central Paris, making it the closer of the two main Paris airports to the city centre. Originally opened in 1932 as Villeneuve-Orly Airport, it served as Paris's primary international gateway until Charles de Gaulle Airport opened in 1974. Today it handles around 33 million passengers a year, making it France's second-busiest airport.

The airport is arranged across four connected terminals. Terminals 1 and 2 form the West Terminal, served by carriers including easyJet, Iberia, TAP Air Portugal, Vueling, ITA Airways, and Wizz Air. Terminal 3 is the base for Transavia France and Air Corsica, along with LOT Polish Airlines. Terminal 4 serves North African carriers including Air Algérie, Royal Air Maroc, and Tunisair, as well as low-cost long-haul airlines French Bee and Corsair.

Orly has three active runways and is operated by Groupe ADP (Aéroports de Paris). The airport is the dominant hub for domestic French routes, particularly to overseas territories and Corsica. An Orléans–Val de Loire Airport connection via the Orlyval automated shuttle links the airport directly to the Paris RER B suburban rail line.
