Palma de Mallorca Airport Guide
Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI) is located 8 kilometres east of Palma on the island of Mallorca, Spain. Opened in July 1960, it is the third busiest airport in Spain by passenger volume. In 2024, it handled 33.3 million passengers across 243,200 aircraft movements — both all-time records for the airport.
The airport is operated by Aena and organised into four modules: Module A handles non-Schengen flights including services to the UK and Ireland; Module B serves regional Air Nostrum routes to other Balearic islands; Module C serves Schengen destinations with carriers including Eurowings, Condor, and easyJet; and Module D handles European and domestic routes. Module D closed in November 2025 for renovation works.
Mallorca's position as one of Europe's most visited holiday destinations drives strong seasonal demand at PMI. Major carriers including Ryanair, Vueling, Jet2, easyJet, and Air Europa operate frequent services, with the airport registering over 50 airlines. Peak summer months account for the majority of traffic.
