Ibiza Airport guide

Ibiza Airport is located 7 km southwest of Ibiza city, on the island of Ibiza in Spain's Balearic Islands. It also serves the neighboring island of Formentera. The airport has one asphalt runway, 06/24, about 2,800 metres long, and a single terminal handling both domestic and international passengers.

The Es Codolá airfield was opened to civil air traffic in 1949, and commercial airline service began in 1958 when Aviaco started flights to Palma and Barcelona. The airport opened to international traffic, with 24-hour customs, on 15 July 1966. A new terminal building was completed in 1973 and operated initially as an international-only facility. The terminal was modernised in 1984-1985, and check-in and waiting areas were extended in 2002.

In 2024 the airport handled 9,069,410 passengers and 83,049 aircraft movements. Traffic is dominated by European leisure routes, with Ryanair, easyJet, Vueling, Jet2.com, TUI Airways and British Airways among the airlines serving it. The airport is operated by Aena, Spain's state airport operator, and has several car parks, car rental offices at the terminal, shops and restaurants.
