Hurghada International Airport sits 5 km southwest of El Dahar, Hurghada's city centre, on Egypt's Red Sea coast. It is Egypt's second-busiest airport after Cairo International, ranked 6th in Africa and 19th in the Middle East by passenger volume, handling nearly 9.6 million passengers in 2024. The airport operates two passenger terminals with a combined capacity of up to 13 million passengers per year.

The airport serves almost exclusively international leisure traffic, drawing tourists to the Red Sea resorts stretching along the coast. European charter and low-cost carriers dominate the schedule, with dozens of airlines connecting Hurghada to destinations across Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia. EgyptAir, Nile Air, and Air Cairo also operate domestic routes from the airport.

A major terminal expansion inaugurated in December 2014 added 92,000 square metres of passenger facilities, including 72 check-in counters and 20 departure gates. The airport is operated by the Egyptian Airports Company, a subsidiary of the state-owned Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation.
