Billund Airport (EKBI) sits 1.9 km northeast of Billund in central Jutland, serving west and southern Denmark. It opened in November 1964 — founded by Godtfred Kirk Christiansen of the LEGO Group, who established the original private airstrip in 1961. Nine out of ten passengers travel internationally, making it Denmark's second-busiest international airport after Copenhagen.

The single passenger terminal covers 40,000 m² across three levels and handles up to 3.5 million passengers per year. In 2024 the airport recorded 3,698,574 passengers and 45,464 aircraft movements. Ryanair is the dominant carrier, holding around 39% of scheduled seat capacity. KLM, Norwegian, SAS, Wizz Air, Lufthansa, British Airways, and airBaltic also operate scheduled services, connecting Billund to over 40 destinations across Europe and beyond.

Billund Airport operates one asphalt runway (09/27, 3,100 m), capable of handling Boeing 747-sized aircraft. The airport is also a significant cargo hub, anchored by Maersk Air Cargo. Its location near LEGOLAND Billund draws substantial leisure traffic, distinguishing it from other regional Scandinavian airports of comparable size.
