Bauru/Arealva–Moussa Nakhal Tobias State Airport Guide
Bauru/Arealva Airport (JTC, ICAO SBAE) is a regional airport in the interior of São Paulo state. It sits between the two towns in its name and replaced the older Bauru airfield, which closed to scheduled traffic when this airport opened in October 2006. The name honours Moussa Nakhl Tobias, a Lebanese-born businessman and vice-mayor of Bauru.
It has one asphalt runway, 17/35, about 2,010 m long and 45 m wide, at 598 m elevation. The passenger terminal covers roughly 2,500 square metres, and the apron can hold several Boeing 737s at once. Facilities include parking, a car rental desk and a snack bar.
DAESP, the state aviation department, ran the airport from 2006 to 2021. Rede Voa took over after a concession auction in July 2021. Scheduled service is limited. Azul flies to Campinas (Viracopos), with seasonal flights to Maceió and Recife. In 2019 the airport handled 137,149 passengers and 7,237 aircraft operations.
