Ji-Paraná Airport Guide
José Coleto Airport (ICAO SBJI) serves Ji-Paraná, a city in the east of Rondônia. It sits at 182 metres above sea level on the RO-480 in a rural area, about 12 km from the city centre.
The airport has a single asphalt runway, 03/21, measuring 1,800 by 45 metres. It handles day and night flights under visual conditions. Works in 2020 and 2021 widened the runway strip from 75 to 140 metres. The current passenger terminal covers about 800 square metres.
Azul is the scheduled airline, flying to Campinas (Viracopos) and Cuiabá. LATAM is due to add a service to São Paulo (Guarulhos) from 3 December 2026. Passenger numbers reached 121,715 in 2011, fell to 14,844 in 2020 and recovered to 34,605 in 2021. The Rondônia state roads department, DER-RO, carries out the investment programme under a 2017 agreement with the federal ports and airports ministry. A R$ 35 million project is planned for a new terminal of about 2,255 square metres, sized for up to 240 passengers at peak times.
