Brasília International Airport sits 13 km from the city center in the Lago Sul administrative region of the Federal District. Opened in 1957, it is Brazil's third busiest airport by passengers and aircraft movements, handling over 16.7 million passengers in 2025. The airport shares part of its site with the Brasília Air Force Base.

The facility operates as a single unified terminal divided into two boarding piers. The North Pier focuses on domestic routes, while the South Pier handles both domestic and international operations including passport control and duty-free retail. A people mover connects the piers at the upper level. LATAM Brasil, GOL, and Azul are the dominant carriers, with international services to Miami, Lisbon, Buenos Aires, and other destinations.

Inframérica, part of Corporación América Airports, took over the concession in 2012 and invested R$1.2 billion modernizing the facility, expanding from 13 to 29 jetways and increasing apron positions from 40 to 70. The airport has two parallel runways and a design capacity exceeding 21 million passengers annually.
