Central Wisconsin Airport Guide
Central Wisconsin Airport sits about 3 nautical miles southeast of Mosinee, in Marathon County, at 100 CWA Drive. It serves the Wausau and Stevens Point area and is owned jointly by Marathon and Portage counties. A joint airport board runs it.
Two concrete runways cross the field. Runway 8/26 is 7,723 feet long and runway 17/35 is 6,501 feet, both 150 feet wide. About 56 percent of aircraft operations are scheduled commercial and air taxi flights, 43 percent are general aviation and roughly 1 percent are military.
American Eagle flies to Chicago O'Hare and Delta Connection flies to Minneapolis/St. Paul. Cargo flights run for FedEx Feeder and other carriers. United has no service at present, and the airport lists a return to Chicago O'Hare as planned. The single terminal had five gates added in 1997 and a $10 million renovation from 2012 that moved the security checkpoints and enlarged the ticket counters. A geothermal system supplies most of its heating and cooling.
