Last updated 2026-04-21 UTC
Nashville International Airport sits 9 km southeast of downtown Nashville, in the southeastern section of the city. The airport covers 4,555 acres and has four runways, including an 11,030-foot main runway capable of handling wide-body aircraft on transatlantic routes. Southwest Airlines is the largest carrier, accounting for over 6.6 million passengers in 2025, followed by American, Delta, and United.
The airport handled 24.6 million passengers in 2024, placing it among the 30 busiest airports in the United States. A major expansion program — BNA Vision — was largely completed in 2023, adding expanded concourses, a new international arrivals facility, parking garages, and a hotel. A second phase, New Horizon, is underway and scheduled for completion in 2028, including a reconstructed Concourse A with 16 gates.
International service connects Nashville to Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Europe, with carriers including British Airways, Aer Lingus, Icelandair, Air Canada, and WestJet. International processing is handled at Concourse T. The airport is operated by the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority.
