Montgomery Regional Airport, also called Dannelly Field, is the commercial airport for Alabama's capital. It lies about seven miles southwest of downtown Montgomery, on Selma Highway. The City of Montgomery owns it and the Montgomery Airport Authority operates it. American Eagle, Delta Connection and United Express fly from here, with nonstop service to Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas-Fort Worth, Washington National and Houston.

Dannelly Field opened in 1943 and is named for Navy pilot Clarence Moore Dannelly Jr. The airport had 203,825 enplanements in 2025, its busiest passenger year in more than twenty years. A $40 million program finished in November 2006 roughly doubled the terminal's size. The airport replaced four jet bridges in May 2023 and has a $5.2 million terminal renovation underway.

The airport shares its field with the military. The Alabama Air National Guard's 187th Fighter Wing, which flies F-35A Lightning II jets, is based on the west side at Montgomery Air National Guard Base. Of the 63,511 aircraft operations in the year ending September 30, 2022, about 35 percent were military and 51 percent general aviation.
