Košice International Airport guide

Košice International Airport (ICAO: LZKZ) serves eastern Slovakia from a site about 6 km south of the centre of Košice. It is the country's second-busiest airport after Bratislava.

Construction of the passenger terminal began in 1954, and a direct Prague to Košice service followed in 1955. The runway was lengthened by 1,100 metres between 1974 and 1977, and a new passenger terminal opened in 2004.

The airport handled 827,798 passengers in 2025, a 12% rise on 2024, which itself was a record year with about 739,000. It recorded 4,398 aircraft movements. Its single asphalt runway, 01/19, is 3,100 metres long, and all flights use one terminal. Scheduled airlines include Austrian Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Ryanair, Smartwings, Swiss and Wizz Air.

Letisko Košice - Airport Košice, a.s. runs the airport. KSC Holding, majority-owned by Vienna Airport, holds 66% and the Slovak state holds 34%.
