Penza Airport guide

Penza Airport is also known as Ternovka, after the village beside which it stands. A Civil Air Fleet airfield opened on the site in 1939, and regular air mail and passenger flights in the Penza region began in 1930.

The airport has one asphalt runway, 10/28, which is 2,800 metres long and 45 metres wide. It handled about 355,300 passengers in 2024. Flights go to Moscow, Saint Petersburg and other Russian cities, with Aeroflot, Rossiya Airlines and Azimut among the carriers.

The single passenger terminal dates from 1963. It was partly rebuilt in the 1970s and 1980s and fully renovated in 2003. The airport has been given international status, and a new terminal complex of more than 10,000 square metres is planned to replace the old building, with an opening targeted for 2030.
