Novosibirsk Tolmachevo Airport guide

Tolmachevo sits in the town of Ob, about 16 km west of central Novosibirsk. It is the busiest airport in Russia east of the Urals and the home base of S7 Airlines, which carried about 7 million passengers through it in 2025.

The first passenger flight, a Tupolev Tu-104 to Moscow, left on 12 July 1957. Traffic passed 9 million in 2023 and reached about 9.5 million in 2025. More than 30 airlines fly regular and charter services on over 90 routes, covering Russian cities and destinations in Central Asia, Turkey, the UAE, Thailand, China, Sri Lanka and Egypt.

Two runways, each about 3.6 km long, handle the traffic. A new 58,000 square metre domestic building opened on 9 February 2023 after an investment of 18.1 billion rubles, and further expansion aims to lift capacity above 12 million passengers a year by 2027.
