Kostroma Sokerkino Airport guide

Kostroma Sokerkino Airport (ICAO: UUBA) lies inside the city limits of Kostroma, a Volga river city in central Russia. It is a small regional airfield with a single runway, 14/32, measuring 1,700 by 50 metres. The runway is not concrete-slab paved.

The airport is run by the Kostroma Aviation Enterprise, a joint-stock company whose shares passed to Kostroma Oblast in 2010. Civil aviation in Kostroma began in November 1944 with a Po-2 aircraft, and scheduled An-2 flights followed in the 1950s. The enterprise flies An-26 turboprops on domestic routes, including St Petersburg Pulkovo and Nizhny Novgorod Strigino. Services run only a few days a week.

The Kostroma DOSAAF aeroclub also bases its aircraft here. The nearest larger airfields are Tunoshna near Yaroslavl, 58 km away, and Kineshma, 77 km away. Passenger numbers are small. The last published figure in the sources is 7,357 passengers in 2017.
