Pobedilovo Airport guide

Pobedilovo is the only commercial airport serving Kirov Oblast, a region in the Vyatka river basin of north-central European Russia. It sits in the Leninsky district, south-west of the regional capital, and holds federal status. The airfield dates to 1941, when it served as a military reserve strip, and scheduled passenger service began in 1969.

Passenger traffic has grown steadily in recent years. The airport handled about 74,000 passengers in 2014 and 490,175 in 2024, rising from 426,600 in 2023. Most flights are domestic services to Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kazan and Black Sea and Caucasus destinations, with several routes running only in summer.

The airport has one active asphalt runway, 03/21, 2,703 metres long and 49 metres wide. A shorter secondary strip of about 675 metres also exists. A second terminal has been proposed, but passengers currently use a single terminal building. The operator is AO Aeroport Pobedilovo, on behalf of the Government of Kirov Oblast.
