Bratsk Airport guide

Bratsk Airport (ICAO UIBB) lies about 8 km north of Bratsk in Irkutsk Oblast. Regular flights to the city began in 1956. The present airfield opened in 1967, after the original site was flooded during construction of the Bratsk hydroelectric dam.

A single concrete runway, 12/30, measures 3,160 m by 60 m. It is long enough for large aircraft, and the airfield has also served as a diversion point on Polar route 2 and as a staging base for cargo flights to Kamchatka. A Soviet interceptor regiment was based here from 1984 until it was disbanded in 2002.

Scheduled service is domestic. S7 Airlines flies to Moscow Domodedovo, Irkutsk and Novosibirsk, Angara links Bratsk with Irkutsk, and UTair also serves the airport. Flights from Krasnoyarsk have run with regional subsidies. Passenger numbers were between 110,000 and 127,000 a year from 2014 to 2018 and reached about 248,000 in 2023.
