Kishangarh Airport Ajmer guide

Kishangarh Airport is a domestic airport in the Ajmer district of Rajasthan, built beside National Highway 48. It serves Ajmer, Kishangarh and the wider Ajmer region, and it is the nearest airport for pilgrims travelling to Pushkar and the Ajmer Sharif dargah.

The site began as a small airstrip used for charter planes and helicopters. A 2009 agreement between the Government of Rajasthan and the Airports Authority of India started its redevelopment, and the state handed roughly 734 acres to the authority in phases. The airport has been in operation since October 2017. Regular flights with Q-400 and ATR-72 turboprops began in October 2018, under the UDAN regional connectivity scheme.

The single concrete runway, 05/23, is about 2,150 metres long and takes aircraft up to the Airbus A320. The terminal has six check-in counters and one X-ray baggage screening machine, and it is built for about 150 passengers at peak hours. IndiGo and Star Air fly to destinations including Delhi, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Nagpur and Pune. The airport handled about 125,000 passengers in the 2025-26 financial year, up 44 percent on the year before, with no cargo traffic.
