Updated 2026-08-28Kempegowda International Airport opened in May 2008, replacing HAL Airport as Bengaluru's primary commercial gateway. Located 35 km north of the city in Devanahalli, it is owned and operated by Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL), a public-private consortium. In FY2024-25 the airport handled 41.87 million passengers, making it the third-busiest airport in India after Delhi and Mumbai.
