Anyang Hongqiqu Airport guide

Anyang Hongqiqu Airport opened to flights on 29 November 2023. It sits in Wagang township, Tangyin County, about 27 km in a straight line from central Anyang, in the area where Anyang, Puyang and Hebi meet. Its ICAO code is ZHQQ. The airport takes its name from the Red Flag Canal, a landmark irrigation project in the Taihang Mountains near Anyang.

The project cost 1.366 billion yuan. It has one runway, 03/21, measuring 2,600 by 45 metres, a 6,122 square metre terminal and seven apron stands. It was designed for 550,000 passengers and 2,000 tonnes of cargo a year. Annual passenger figures have not been published separately.

Scheduled flights are operated by Beijing Capital Airlines, China Southern Airlines and Ruili Airlines. Routes link Anyang with Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Shenyang, Harbin and Sanya. The airport serves about 11.6 million people in the three northern Henan cities around it.
