Kangirsuk Airport guide

Kangirsuk Airport is a small gravel-runway airport serving the Inuit village of Kangirsuk on Payne Bay in Nunavik, northern Quebec. It sits about 1 km east of the village at an elevation of 124 metres (406 feet).

The village has no road link to the rest of Quebec. Air travel is its year-round connection, with boats supplementing it in late summer, so the airport carries passengers, mail and supplies for the community of roughly 560 people.

Air Inuit flies the scheduled service with Dash 8-300 and DHC-6 Twin Otter aircraft. Published routes link Kangirsuk with Aupaluk, Kangiqsujuaq, Kuujjuaq, Quaqtaq, Salluit and Tasiujaq. Kuujjuaq, about 230 km to the south, is the usual transfer point for flights to the rest of Canada. The airport has no website of its own; schedules come from Air Inuit and general information from the Kativik Regional Government.
