Corrientes Airport guide

Corrientes Airport serves the provincial capital of Corrientes in northeastern Argentina. It sits on National Route 12, about 12 km east of the city centre, and carries the ICAO code SARC. The airport is also known locally as Cambá Punta.

The airfield was built in 1961 and the original terminal was finished in 1964. A new terminal and control tower were built between 2009 and 2011, and the old buildings were demolished. The airport is run by the provincial government rather than by the national concession operator Aeropuertos Argentina.

In April 2014 the airport closed for runway works, and flights moved to Resistencia International Airport, about 32 km to the west. Regular commercial service returned in September 2015 after the runway was repaved. Aerolíneas Argentinas, Flybondi and JetSMART have since flown to Buenos Aires. The single concrete runway is designated 02/20, and the field lies 62 m above sea level.

The passenger terminal has two floors. Check-in, arrivals and pre-boarding are on the ground floor, with service areas and a VIP lounge above. The terminal usually opens from about 06:00 to 21:00, depending on the flight schedule. An open-air car park for roughly 150 vehicles stands in front of the building.
