Dong Hoi Airport guide

Dong Hoi Airport lies about 6 km north of Dong Hoi, the provincial capital of Quang Tri province in north-central Vietnam. It is the gateway to the Phong Nha-Ke Bang caves and national park, and the road into the city is short and direct.

The airport opened on 18 May 2008 with a first commercial flight from Hanoi's Noi Bai. Its single concrete runway, 2,400 m long and 45 m wide, is rated ICAO code 4D. The two-storey terminal covers 4,282 square meters and was designed for about 500,000 passengers a year. Traffic passed 750,000 in 2023, so the building runs well above its design capacity.

Service is domestic only. Vietnam Airlines and VietJet Air connect the airport with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. A second passenger terminal, T2, began construction in April 2025. It is designed for 3 million passengers a year, and the project also doubles the apron from four to eight aircraft positions.
