Watertown Regional Airport sits at 550 Airport Drive, about two miles northwest of downtown Watertown in Codington County, South Dakota. The City of Watertown owns it. The field began as a World War II Army airfield in 1943 and now serves as the commercial gateway for northeastern South Dakota. Sioux Falls is roughly 90 minutes away by road, so many residents of the region fly from here.

The airport has two concrete runways. Runway 12/30 is 6,898 feet long and Runway 17/35 is 6,893 feet. In 2022 it recorded 12,276 aircraft operations. General aviation made up 89 percent of that traffic, scheduled airline flights 6 percent and air taxi 5 percent. About 52 aircraft are based on the field.

SkyWest Airlines flies the scheduled service, operating as Delta Connection to Minneapolis/St. Paul and as United Express to Denver. A two-level passenger terminal with two gates and a movable jet bridge opened on August 10, 2022, replacing a terminal from the 1950s. Short- and long-term parking is free. UPS and smaller cargo operators also use the airport, and the Lake Area Technical College aviation annex is located on the field.
