Block Island State Airport serves Block Island, a ferry-linked island off the Rhode Island coast that forms the town of New Shoreham. The airport is about one mile from the island's main harbour and sits on 136 acres. It opened on 15 July 1950 and is owned by the State of Rhode Island. The Rhode Island Airport Corporation operates it as one of the state's six airports.

The airport has one asphalt runway, 10/28, which measures 2,502 by 100 feet (763 by 30 metres). There is no control tower. Staff are on site in summer, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The FAA lists the field as a non-hub primary commercial service airport in its 2023 to 2027 plan.

Most traffic is small aircraft. The FAA counted 17,014 operations in the 12 months to February 2020, about 47 a day. Air taxi flights made up 72% of those, general aviation 28%, and military flights under 1%.

Scheduled passenger flights run to Westerly State Airport on the mainland. New England Airlines flies the route with 8-passenger aircraft, and Fly The Whale began weekday service in November 2024. The airport also provides tie-downs and apron parking for visiting private aircraft. A federal grant of about $2.6 million, announced in 2023, funds a 29,100 square foot expansion of the terminal apron.
