Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport sits in Warwick, 10 km south of Providence city centre. Opened in 1931 as Hillsgrove State Airport, it is the oldest state-owned airport in the United States. The airport covers 976 acres and operates two runways, with the primary runway extending 2,652 metres to accommodate widebody aircraft.

The Bruce Sundlun Terminal serves over 4 million passengers a year. Southwest Airlines carries the largest share of traffic at roughly 30%, followed by Breeze Airways, which uses PVD as a major hub, and JetBlue. American Airlines and Delta round out the top five carriers. The airport offers more than 38 nonstop destinations across the continental United States, the Caribbean, and Mexico.

PVD is directly connected to Boston's South Station via MBTA commuter rail, making it accessible to travellers from southeastern Massachusetts and Providence without a car. A $64 million terminal renovation is underway, with completion scheduled for late 2027.
