Tulsa International Airport Guide
Tulsa International Airport sits 8 km northeast of downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma, and is the primary commercial airport for northeastern Oklahoma. It handled about 3.19 million passengers in 2025 and 107,131 aircraft operations, and it has three runways: 18L/36R at 10,000 feet, 8/26 at 7,376 feet and 18R/36L at 6,101 feet.
Seven airlines serve the airport: Alaska, Allegiant, American, Delta, Southwest, Sun Country and United. Southwest carries the largest share of passengers at about 35 percent, followed by American and SkyWest, which flies regional service for the major carriers. The airport is also the home of American Airlines' global maintenance and engineering base, the airline's largest maintenance operation.
The airport opened in 1928 as a municipal airport and was renamed Tulsa International Airport in 1963. The current terminal building opened in 1961 and was designed by architect Robert Lawton Jones. It has two concourses, A and B, with 22 gates between them. The Tulsa Airports Improvement Trust operates the airport, which is owned by the City of Tulsa. On 21 May 2026, Sun Country began seasonal nonstop service to Cancun, the airport's first scheduled commercial international route.
