Reno-Tahoe International Airport sits 5 km southeast of downtown Reno, Nevada, at an elevation of 1,346 meters — one of the highest-elevation commercial airports in the United States. The airport is owned and operated by the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, which was established by the Nevada State Legislature in 1977 and also manages Reno-Stead Airport. In 2024 the airport served 4.8 million passengers, its busiest year since 2008.

The airport has one passenger terminal with two concourses — B and C — totaling 23 jet-bridged gates. Southwest Airlines is the largest carrier, with over 60 daily flights. The airport also handles international service to Mexico via Volaris.

Reno's location makes it the primary gateway for Northern Nevada's gaming, convention, and outdoor recreation markets. It sits roughly 55 km from the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, making it a key access point for ski resorts including Palisades Tahoe and Mt. Rose. The airport has three active runways, the longest at 3,353 meters, capable of handling wide-body aircraft.
