Alliance Municipal Airport (ICAO KAIA) sits about three miles southeast of Alliance, in Box Butte County in the Nebraska Panhandle. The airport stands at 3,931 feet. The City of Alliance owns it, and the manager's office is on Sarpy Road at the field.

The U.S. Army Air Forces built the field between 1942 and 1943 as Alliance Army Airfield, where paratroop and troop carrier units trained. The Army closed it in 1945, and the land and buildings passed to the city in 1953. Many wartime buildings are still in use.

Three asphalt runways remain: 12/30 at 9,203 by 150 feet, 17/35 at 6,311 by 75 feet and 8/26 at 6,190 by 75 feet. Denver Air Connection flies nonstop to Denver under the federal Essential Air Service program, using nine-seat Metroliner turboprops with up to 14 round trips a week. The rest of the traffic is general aviation. In the year to May 2022 the airport logged 13,697 aircraft operations, about 90 percent of them general aviation.
