Coastal Carolina Regional Airport Guide
Coastal Carolina Regional Airport sits about 5 km southeast of downtown New Bern in eastern North Carolina. It is the main commercial airport for Craven County and the surrounding Crystal Coast and Inner Banks region. The field first opened in 1931 and has carried several names, including Craven County Regional, Simmons-Nott and New Bern Regional. It took its current name in August 2008.
Scheduled service is light. American Eagle flies to Charlotte, and Breeze Airways has flown nonstop to Orlando and Hartford since May 2024. Airport officials reported a 41% rise in passenger traffic in 2024, driven largely by Breeze. The terminal opened in 1999 and has three gates on a central pier. An expansion was open to passengers by June 2024.
Two asphalt runways serve the field, 04/22 at 6,453 ft and 14/32 at 4,000 ft. General aviation makes up most of the traffic, with about 47,000 aircraft operations recorded in 2019. During World War II, the Marine Corps used the field as an outlying field for Cherry Point, and the Army Air Forces flew anti-submarine patrols from it.
