Marquette Sawyer Regional Airport serves Michigan's Upper Peninsula from a site near Gwinn, about 17 nautical miles south of Marquette. It occupies part of the former K. I. Sawyer Air Force Base, which closed in September 1995. The commercial airport opened in 1999 and replaced the old Marquette County Airport.

Its single runway, 1/19, measures 9,072 by 150 feet. The Air Force built it in 1959 for B-52 bombers and KC-135 tankers, so it handles far larger aircraft than the regional jets that fly here today. An air traffic control tower operates on site.

Envoy Air flies American Eagle service to Chicago O'Hare, and Delta Connection serves Detroit and Minneapolis/St. Paul. Ameriflight, FedEx Feeder and PACC Air provide cargo flights. Marquette County owns the airport. It was known as Sawyer International Airport until the county approved the current name in 2023, alongside a renovation of about $20 million that expanded the terminal.
